The 2024 Honda Transalp Is Coming To Canada, So What Is The Honda Transalp?

Long-rumoured and finally confirmed, the Honda Transalp is coming to Canada. The Transalp goes on sale on September 20, 2023.

The 2024 Honda XL750 Transalp is the successor to a bike that was introduced in most global markets in 1986 but only found its way to North America for a two-model-year span in 1989-1990. The new Transalp is a true adventure motorcycle, bridging the gap between Honda's CB500X and CRF1100 Africa Twin. Meant to quite literally go anywhere, the Transalp is a continental tourer one day, a dirt-road sandblaster the next, and a worthy trail companion on the weekend. Riding on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels (with either Metzeler Karoo Street or Dunlop Mixture tires), the 2024 Transalp is a 459-pound bike with 7.9 inches of wheel travel.

Honda also designed the Transalp to include five riding modes that modulate engine power, engine braking, ABS, and Honda Selectable Torque Control: Sport, Standard, Rain, Gravel, and User. That final User mode is basically a custom setting that allows the rider to choose independent settings for the four components that make up ride modes. As far as engine power goes, the Transalp runs an all-new Honda engine. Although Honda doesn't release exact figures in North America, we know from other marks that the Transalp's 755cc parallel twin produces a soul-stirring 91 horsepower and 55 lb-ft of torque. "The first thing you'll notice," said David Booth in his first Canadian review of the Transalp for Driving.ca, "is that there's a bunch of grunt down low."

"Bigger bikes – both sporty or adventuring – are going to be surprised with the Transalp's alacrity."

Priced at $13,488 including freight/PDI, the 2024 Honda Transalp will be offered in Mat Ballistic Black Metallic. Other key elements that Honda has incorporated into the Transalp are listed below.
