Coming Soon To CAST: KTM Factory Replica STACYC 16eDRIVE & KTM Factory Replica STACYC 12eDRIVE

Apr. 14 2021 Product Updates By Centennial Auto-Sport & Tire

Here's the scenario: your little one wants to ride, and you're itching to plop them down on a 2021 KTM 50 SX Mini. But you know better. Their legs aren't long enough and their skill set's not broad enough.

Now there's a solution. This is the KTM Factory Replica STACYC 12eDRIVE and KTM Factory Replica STACYC 16eDRIVE, twist-throttle balance bikes with low seat heights, numerous settings, low weight, and no emissions. Weighing in at only 17-20 pounds,  KTM STACYC electric balance bikes can easily be tossed into the trunk of a small car and easily picked up by the littlest riders.

It's the way to start.

In fact, the KTM STACYC eDRIVE bikes can be started with no battery power at all. Allow you little ones to operate the STACYC just as they would a conventional balance bike; getting the feel for turns and the push/pull sensation. Then the 12eDRIVE can be placed in one of three modes and your child can operate the twist throttle, just like a conventional dirt bike:

  • Low/Training mode runs to roughly 8 km/h
  • Medium/Transitional mode ups the ante to around 11 km/h
  • High/Advanced mode takes speeds up to 14 km/h

The seat height on the 12eDRIVE is 330mm, or 13 inches. Ideally, your child will have an inseam of 35 centimetres or more to easily ride the KTM 12eDRIVE.

On the KTM 16eDRIVE, the seat height is 430 mm, or 16.9 inches. That means your child should have an inseam of 45 centimetres or more to ride the 16eDRIVE. Just like the smaller 12eDRIVE, the 16eDRIVE can be operated like a conventional balance bike. But when you want to add the twist throttle and electric propulsion to the game, speeds can run quite a bit higher:

  • Low/Training mode is still at around 8 km/h
  • Medium/Transitional mode rises to 12 km/h
  • High/Advanced mode is a quicker 21 km/h

Charging time for the quick disconnect battery is about 60 minutes for a full charge. When the battery runs down to around 30%, you'll see a yellow light indicating a low battery level. Red means it's time to charge. Typical ride time varies between 45-60 minutes depending on the riding style. The smaller 12eDRIVE battery has been known to last for up to two hours according to STACYC, KTM's partner on these e-bikes.

The Factory Replica KTM eDRIVE bikes are due to arrive at Centennial Auto-Sport & Tire soon with limited quantities available. In the meantime, get to know the bikes by watching the video below. And watch our full KTM unveiling video here.
